I think is 50/50.
Because you could have it to call for an emergency but not use it on class because you could copy or something.

Honestly it’s really dumb. And I know that like kids can use it to cheat and all, but js like put it on the teachers desk or some shit don’t send it to the office.
If we have it in our pockets or in sight and we aren’t using it like what’s the harm?? I can’t js telekinesis that shit and use it while it’s off and not in my hand
the office thing worries me because kids go there every day and they might see a phone laying on the table and steal it

it’s understandable if you have it out and aren’t paying attention but like if it’s just in your bag there isn’t a problem really
ME TOO I HAD TO GO THE OFFICE TO SEE IF THEY FOUND MY PHONE CUZ I HAD LOST IT AND I MISSED THE BUS

i only had a couple of moments that i’d have my phone out when i’m not supposed to and thats when i can’t be bothered doing anything and i don’t care to and had nothing better to do
banning phones just shows how crap the modern education system is because its not standardizing to modern times and technology and relying on old learning behaviors which a lot of people 1: can’t learn from because people learn differently like myself because i just won’t do anything if i can’t learn in a certain class and 2: find boring
this isn’t really a good mindset to have but need to set some context here. i am an autistic person and was diagnosed really late and i struggle with learning the way the education system teach people and have bad social issues so the majority of my school life was me failing for 1 reason or another so never really got the proper help. and so when i was in class and couldn’t learn properly because of the teacher or whatever other reason i just kinda resulted to not do any of the work (this was only after i asked for help and most of the time nothing would work)
education system bans them for (least over here) for people being distracted than a cheating tool and distracted come by boredom usually and potentially other issues like ADHD and autism and such
so the way i see it it’s unnecessary and a waste of effort. education system needs to change

I feel like it’s unnecessary because the teacher could just ask a student to put their phone away if there’s a lecture or smth. Also if I accidentally leave my phone in my pocket, it’s not sent to the office, but it’s put in as “not prepared for class” which is unfair. If this happens five times the punishment is detention. That shouldn’t be how it is.
Another dumb ban at my school is wireless headphones/earbuds. I see no logic in this.
Also my school allows bandanas but not hats? Why???

i was once doing work and the teacher was making a whole scene like oi (my government name) get off your phone. I WAS DOING SCHOOL WORK just because i’m looking down at a piece of paper doesn’t mean i’m on my phone
